GSA Planning provided planning advice and prepared the Statement of Environmental Effects in support of alterations to the existing Bernley Private Hotel, now known as the Storrier Hotel. The proposal was for the conversion of the existing 95 room hotel into 70 serviced apartments with new entry area. A lobby was also proposed, resulting in a more inviting entry area and comprised a café/ lounge for the use of apartment residents and the general public.

Council considered that the proposed alterations had no significant environmental or social impacts on the locality and granted development consent subject to a number of conditions. GSA Planning also provided planning advice and prepared Statements of Environmental Effects for minor alterations and additions to the approved development. Those modifications included: a new canopy structure to the Earl Place entry; additions to the northern side fence; a retractable awning; the addition of air conditioning units; and the addition of umbrella structures and heaters on the fourth floor balcony.

The Storrier Hotel is the newest member of Potts Point’s promising restaurant and bar precinct.
