GSA Planning provided development advice and prepared a Statement of Environmental Effects to accompany a development application to the City of Sydney Council for a grocery store in the existing industrial building at Nos. 21-23 Erskineville Road, Newtown. This proposal was designed by Brian Meyerson Architects Pty Ltd and incorporated the refurbishment and reuse of the existing industrial building for a grocery store, loading area and car parking for 16 vehicles.
An earlier development application for the partial demolition of the existing building and the construction of a three (3) storey building comprising eighteen (18) commercial suites, two (2) retail suites, one (1) café, two (2) showrooms and basement car parking for twenty-seven (27) vehicles was approved by Council on 31 October 2005.
A previous development application for a supermarket was refused by Council and a subsequent appeal was dismissed in the Land and Environment Court.
