GSA Planning was involved in the redevelopment of a community facility operated by JewishCare, which replaced the existing facility occupying the site.

Designed by JPR Architects, the community facility provides services to vulnerable members of the Jewish and wider community including day respite for the aged and their carers, employment opportunities for people with a disability & assistance to families and youth in crisis. The facility includes community lounge, activity and craft rooms, counselling rooms and administrative offices.

Located within a residential zone, the community facility was approved under existing use rights. Whilst the proposal exceeded council controls in for floor space and height, the proposal was supported by Woollahra Council as it improved the existing level of community services and provided extended services for seniors and the wider community. The proposal was considered to be in the public interest.
